Snow View is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Naintal. It is situated on top of Sherkhanda ridge, at an altitude of 7,448 feet (2,270 meters) above sea level. The easiest route to this place is through the ‘Cable car’, an aerial tramway in which a cabin is suspended from a cable and is pulled by another cable, which can be boarded from Mallital. It is a thrilling experience to swim in air, suspended through a thin cable. On a clear day, Snow View ride provides tourists an opportunity to observe the scenic vistas of the snow-clad Himalayan range. Spectacular vistas of the snowbound Himalayan range, including Nanda Devi, Trisul, and Nanda Kot, from Snow View are both mesmerizing and thrilling.
Snow View is only 3 km from the center of Nainital. If you don’t want to reach the place through cable car journey, you can make use of ponies, cars and taxies, available from Mallital. It would be interesting to know that tea, snacks and other refreshments are also available at the hill top. So, after a beautiful journey through a picturesque path, you can enjoy Snow View as a picnic spot also. Besides the enjoyment of scenic mountain vistas and lavish picnics, you can also visit a small marble temple that is located here.
